"All my work seems to come out from not aware sensations that can grow little by little. Soulmates (within time) has been as well a layer of several intuitions, coincidences. I remember dreaming walking next to a person. No dialogues between us but just the vision of two figures dressed with similar colors which seemed to synthesize a state of pure affinity. After few months I encountered a men that had a knitted sweater with same colors, mélange and stripes which, even if they were in different positions, balanced together as a composition with mine. A perfect matching, not only of the sweaters! From the next day I decided to investigate on my private relations and to have an exchange of thoughts regards the creation of knitwear prototypes with whom I felt in natural deep affinity of love, friendship, sexuality or complicity. I decided that this production would not depend from the rhythm decided by the fashion system but from the necessary time to ‘consume’ each encounter as a sentimental exercise. The pair of garments would narrate the relation between us by coincident geometric shapes and lines from one to another, therefor becoming as dispositives able to configurete a dynamic structure also for othor subjectivities. The knit sweaters can be reproduced in very few multiples and spread out by chance in the world, in search for its other half. Design is so incorporate in physical experience, as a sensory game that last in memory creating narrations and collective actions. As a first step of the project I will present in November at Riss(e) videos, writings, daily life photos. My handcrafted garments will also be introduced by a conversation and an (un)conventional performance between me, my first soulmates (Giancarlo Norese, Lapo Binazzi (UFO), Michel Calà), Ermanno Cristini and the public. Soulmates, “anime gemelle”, è una mostra che presenta un progetto in corso di Lisa Batacchi  nutrito su un tempo lungo dal rincorrersi di numerose coincidenze. Nato da un sogno, Soulmates (within time) ci parla di persone attraverso le cose o meglio di cose che valgono in quanto catalizzatori e veicoli di relazioni. “Mi ricordo di aver sognato di camminare accanto a una persona. Nessun dialogo tra noi, ma solo la visione di due figure vestite con colori simili che sembravano sintetizzare uno stato di affinità puro. Dopo qualche mese ho incontrato un uomo che aveva un maglione con gli stessi miei colori, mélange e strisce che, anche se erano in posizioni diverse, si bilanciavano insieme come in una composizione con la mia. Un accoppiamento perfetto, non solo dei maglioni!“ (L.B.)

Dunque, al centro è una maglia, un fare artigiano che rimanda alle origini dell’esperienza di Lisa, e da questo fulcro, a raggera, si dipanano storie dove il privato diventa pubblico e viceversa. Un modo per riflettere sui rapporti ma anche sul “prodotto”, che in questo caso si sottrae ai ritmi del sistema della moda per guadagnare invece il tempo necessario a “consumare” ogni incontro in quanto esercizio del sentimento.

Riss(e) ospita la prima tappa di Soulmates che, attraverso video, scritti, foto, presenta alcuni capi artigianali  e in particolare una realizzazione nata dalla frequentazione e dallo scambio di idee con Lapo Binazzi, uno dei fondatori degli UFO, il gruppo fiorentino di architettura radicale che negli anni ’60 ripensò il  ruolo del prodotto e del design.
